CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani Says Corruption Doesn’t End Overnight

New Concacaf president Victor Montagliani on the corruption that ripped through FIFA and his confederation:

Extraordinary FIFA Congress

“Moving on doesn’t happen overnight. It is daily, day-out and day-in. Eventually, you do come out of it but what we need to remember is that we don’t forget our history. We want to make sure that, from a confederation standpoint, history never repeats itself.”

You can read my interview with him in full on The Guardian’s website here.

Concacaf has to be fourth time lucky with the Canadian now in charge.

Montagliani’s three predecessors as Concacaf president have all been indicted by the FBI: Jack Warner, Jeffrey Webb, and Alfredo Hawit.

Poor guy means well. But he’s delusional. It’s CONCACAF. The Banana Republic Confederation. They will find a way around “reform” and will carry on doing as they always have.

  2. “We don’t forget history and hence forth we shall find other ways more intelligent to bank our bribes. ” is what he really said.
